| Foster Care Queensland is an organisation for foster and kinship carers and the children and young people for whom they care. The organisation was founded in 1976 and in recent years has been successful in securing government funding to assist in the daily operation of the association. We are a government funded organisation, the membership of which is open to all foster carers (a term used here to mean registered Foster Carers, Kinship carers Provisionally Approved carers and supporters) with associate membership being open to organisations. Our Vision - Leave no child in foster care behind. Our Mission - Represent, Advocate, Inform, Support, Excel. Our Goal - To contribute to the development of an inclusive, responsive and fair foster care system.

| A letter of response has been sent to Tim Carmody by Executive Director Bryan Smith, following the published Courier Mail Article on the 8th of March where Tim Carmody was quoted saying that "SOME children would be better off in an inadequate or even risky home where they were loved rather than being sent to foster care."
