Length of training: 7 hours 

This training is aimed at assessors and provides an in-depth session on initial assessments, covering the following: 

  • The history of assessments in Qld

  • Legal requirements of an Initial Assessment

  • Policy and Procedure that guide assessors in writing an assessment

  • A step by step guide through each of the sections of an assessment exploring what questions should be asked of an applicant and what a Manager will be looking for

  • Household Safety Checks – dispelling some of the myths

  • External checks – what is the purpose and when should they be sought

Assessors should come away from this training with confidence in what Managers are looking for in an assessment and how they can deliver on this.
